Beautiful vantage point, though there are some pretty steep uphill stretches to get here. Be prepared with good boots, and expect to use your hands for stability on the steep parts.
There's no view at from the summit, but fantastic views from a couple of spots on the south slope. A nice, secluded hike with some steep sections.
Great , challenging hike , rewarding views . We followed the well marked red blazed trail. About 3 hours run trip.
The south slope is in CT. This makes it the highest point of elevation in the state.
Beautiful trail, a couple of steep parts include some rock scrambling. Rocks can be slippery so watch your step. This trail is moderate to difficult. Would also highly recommend walking sticks, we ran into a couple of snakes on the same trail about 20 minutes passed the summit. Enjoy but just be cautious. The view is beautiful, would also recommend to keep going passed the summit about another 30 minutes to Brace Mountain Summit, even more beautiful!
